| Customer Reviews: baby looks to be very comfortable January 5, 2010 Lori L. Gimenez 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We really love this car seat and it seems our baby does too. The extra infant padding needs to be taken out for the baby to stay comfortable...probably when the baby is around 10 lbs or a little before then. Otherwise you will get a fussy uncomfortable baby who doesn't appear to fit very well in the seat. Make sure you adjust the straps too as the baby grows and everything will fit great for the baby.
We've had our baby sleep in it during the night too on occasion...going 6+ hour stretches sleeping in this seat. Definitely is a great seat!
Love it! April 29, 2010 H. Baldwin 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently had a Peg Perego and that was so ridiculously heavy I had to buy a new car seat. This is the best one I have found! It is modern looking, the safest on the market, SO easy to install, and my daughter looks very comfortable in it. I also love that the weight max is 30 lbs instead of the usual 22lbs. You will not regret this purchase!
Mostly good carseat November 12, 2009 Mom in Texas (Waco, TX) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this carseat a few months ago for my 3rd baby, and my husband and I like it better than the Graco Snugride that we bought 6+ years ago for our first child. The Chicco carseat base is so easy to install, adjust, and remove from the vehicle that we don't feel the need to buy a second base for my husband's truck. It's also very easy to adjust the tightness of the straps on the baby, which makes it easier to get her in and out and for adjusting based on how thick her clothing is. The colors on this style are very neutral and will work for a boy or a girl and in any vehicle, although the fabric not very soft.
On the negative side, it seems like the straps don't fit our baby just right (they seems too short up-and-down when I tighten it enough on her chest), but I'm hoping that it will work better as she grows a little more (she's only 2 months old and about 12 lbs. right now). Our baby hates being in the carseat and won't sleep in it most of the time, but I'm not sure if that's because of it being uncomfortable or if she just doesn't like carseats. We removed the infant support insert a couple of days ago, and she seems to like it a little more now.
Overall, I would recommend this carseat.
Some things to consider.... August 28, 2010 SnarkySmurf (USA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I would think the best measure of a car seat would be how it performs in a crash. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for this review) I can't speak to that... but I can tell you about some of the less dramatic features of this car seat. Disclaimer... this isn't EXACTLY the model we have (we do have a Chicco keyfit 30 but it is an earlier year/color combo) so they may have addressed these issues but I would take a long look at these features before purchasing.
1) The sun visor. On the other car seat we've used the visor could be positioned however you needed it to be. On this car seat it is connected to the top of the seat and does NOT work in any other position. What does that mean? Well, in our case it means if you are driving with the child in the back of your car and they are facing the rear (like they are supposed to) and the sun is behind you, the sun is directly in their eyes and the visor on this seat cannot be repositioned to help you in any way. This happens to me EVERY DAY as I drive to and from daycare. I've attached a blanket with some duct tape to keep the sun out of my child's eyes, but really... should that be necessary?
2) The head rest attaches through the top two holes on for the seat belts. What does that mean? Well, once your child reaches a certain size the head rest has to come out for the belts to be correctly positioned making their ride that much less comfortable.
He seems comfortable enough in there and everything so this isn't a BAD seat... but certainly nothing I would recommend buying. Bottom line is from my point of view this is NOT the seat to buy.
