Excellent seat December 30, 2009 J. Rogers 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I own two of these seats, I've installed them forward facing in several vehicles. The seat fits well in every vehicle I've installed it in, the latch and tether systems are easy to operate. The seat folds so it is easy to transport and store. The seat is lower and narrower on the outside but wider on the inside than any other car seat I've owned (mostly Britax) so with a little planning it is easy to fit additional seats on either side of it. It is by far the most solid feeling car seat I've owned.
No complaints from the child in the seat, so it must be comfortable. He has been in it for a few five to eight hour stretches.
It is also worth noting, I called the technical support line with a rather obscure question about the latch system (specific to a vehicle) and the technical support person I worked with was both knowledgeable and friendly. It is rare these days to call support, get right to a human and get excellent service.
Excellent product with a company that stands behind it.
Forget the britax, this is the best car seat December 29, 2009 Omar Shahine (Seattle, WA) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
We have two Britax carseats, the roundabout and one Marathon.
Needless to say they are both huge, and cumbersome. Especially to travel with. When you have a child the last thing you need is some large odd shapped object to truck around the airport.
The Radian is excellend for travelling. While it's heavy, it is so slim and easy to cary when folded. This is especially true if you get the travel back that they make.Sunshine Kids Radian Travel Bag, Black
This is a really high quality car seat. No styrafoam like the Britax, but nice foam (almost like memory foam). It's very simple to install using the latch system, especially if you child is forward facing.
In both our cars this car seat fits well and allows for 2 passengers to fit comfortably in the back. I also appreciate how "low" our daughter sits with this car sit which makes it more comfortable for her and us.
what I was looking for July 28, 2010 J. Jurkowski (New York) My toddler is tall for her age so she outgrew her Britax car seat in terms of the height (straps below her shoulders and head above the seat), but not the 40 lb weight limit. I needed to find something for a child under 40lbs that would still be useful until she was 8 (NYS law). I did not want to buy one that was for infants as well since I no longer needed that option and that added to the cost. I researched a lot of car seats including Britax, Recaro, Evenflo, Graco, etc. According to the many reviews I read on NHTSA and other websites, those had some limitations. My toddler has broad shoulders and many seats were said to be narrow. This is one of the few that was highly rated and met my shoulder and other space needs. Consistently across multiple websites it has received great reviews. It was easy to install, it seems very solid, and my toddler finds it comfortable.
Great Seat March 5, 2010 Mom of 2 (NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What I like:
- Super sturdy, love the steel frame
- low (no more knocking my child's head into the car on accident)
- very tall, the height limit will allow me to use this seat for a very long time
- multiple settings for shoulder straps and lap latch
- my daughter is very comfortable in the seat
Cons:
-not the easiest to install (not hard, just not as quick as the britax I own)
- would not fit rear facing for us since we have multiple children and would not go in the middle (since my daughter is 2 this is not an issue for us)
- I would not put a little baby in it
I eventually plan to buy another one for my son. Great seat!
very good seat March 10, 2010 Angie C 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this seat very much. It is narrow and takes up less space then the bulky seats. I have only used it facing forward. It is easy to install although I had a little trouble with the superlatch at first. It was sticking for some reason and did not latch properly. My kids have both fallen asleep in these seats and they seam to have enough support.
Seat does fold easily but is heavy if you are going to be carrying through airports.
