Amazon.com Product Description The True Fit Rebound (model C670) is one of the newest additions to the True Fit Convertible Car Seat family. This seat delivers all of the standard features from our original True Fit with several new features. This seat features the standard no rethread easy to adjust harness. The harness is for use up to 65 lbs. in both rear and forward facing installations. Our easy off head rest and easy off pads are standard too. The C670 model features smaller bottom rails and the patented Rebound Energy Managementâ„¢ system--a flip up rebound bar that actually helps manage the rebound in the unlikely event of a crash, pull the bar forward and it snaps in place with your rear facing installation and flip it back with you move to the forward facing installation. This seat is fully lined with EPP foam and has deep side wings that really surround your child. We have added a center angle indicator in the front of our seat for use when installing in the rear facing position. This new easy to read indicator will help you determine if you have installed your seat correctly. For your infant, it will indicate the Safety Advocate recommended 45 degree angle for installation (without the head rest) and as you keep it rear facing to 35lbs (with the head rest) you can check for the recommended 35 degree angle for installation. We have also moved both side LATCH attachments so they are easy to access when you are installing your seat and easy to secure when you remove the seat from your vehicle. | Five-Star Rating from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
The True Fit Premiere C670 Convertible Car Seat (Retro Rail Stripe) has been evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and received their highest rating for ease of use.

- Are the labels easy to access and to follow? - Vehicle Installation Features
- Do the features on the seat make the installation easier? - Securing the Child
- How easy is it to ensure the child is in the seat correctly?

Did you know if you have a seat that is easier to install there is less of a chance that it will be installed incorrectly? The C670 True Fit Convertible Car Seat has been awarded high ease of use ratings from the National Highway Transportation Administration, NHTSA for short. What does that mean? That after reviewing our seats, our labels, and our instructions it was determined our seats were Easy To Use! The True Fit Rebound (model C670) was awarded Five Stars in both the rear and forward facing modes, the maximum awarded by NHTSA and our True Fit (model C630) was awarded Four Stars in both the rear and forward facing positions. Why buy the True Fit convertible seat? Did you know that you can use our seat from 5 to 65 lbs and during the entire time of use your child will be secured in a 5 pt harness? Most Safety Advocates recommend keeping your child in a harness as long as possible! Advocates also recommend keeping your little one rear facing for as long as possible. We have a removable headrest, that really is easy to remove. One finger lifts the release and you are able to pull the head rest off until you need it, usually up to 22lbs. As your infant starts to grow, simply add the head rest back on and you are good to go in the rear facing position up to 35lbs. When your infant is ready to watch you drive (at 35 lbs or so) simply make sure that head rest is in place and turn your seat around. Remember, even in the forward facing position, your child will still be using the 5 pt harness. Let's not forget about installation, all of our True Fit Convertibles feature built in lock offs and LATCH system, for both the rear and forward facing positions. We also color code all of our belt paths, making it easier for you to locate just where you should be putting your car seat belts when you install your seat. Wondering about Side Impact Testing? The True Fit seats all have deep side wings and they are all side impact tested to International Standards! Ever try to adjust or rethread the harness straps on a car seat? Unless you have a few hours to spare, you will really appreciate our no rethread, easy to adjust harness system. We have easy to access shoulder belt height adjusters on each side of the seat and they are clearly marked with recommended positions (four) based on whether you are installing in a rear or forward facing position. All of this means you never have to spend time trying to figure out how to correctly rethread or adjust the harness. Does your child ever make a little mess with their animal crackers in the car? The combination of our no rethread harness and our easy off pad makes clean up a snap, literally, our pad snaps right off. Simply lift the center flap on the pad, unsnap the sides and clean up is as simple as can be. Once your pad is clean, it snaps back on in seconds hassle free! As your child grows, have no worries that they will not fit in your True Fit. The interior dimensions of our seat are large and comfortable. In fact, with the extra cushy seat pads and roomier seat it may be hard to convince your child to leave their seat! When you are ready to choose your favorite True Fit model, let us help you decide. - True Fit is the only car seat manufacturer with the removable top portion for rear facing. This is a big deal as it relates to installation. By removing the top portion adults in the driver position have more legroom than what is available using competitive convertible car seats.
- Another huge feature is the external adjustment of the harness. Virtually all other manufacturers require you to rethread their harness in order to make adjustments. Utilizing an external adjustment simplifies the process and assures you of proper installation.
- The external measurements for our seat are comparable to all other major competitors. The big difference lies in the internal dimensions where we are wider and deeper allowing the child to better fit in the seat ergonomically for a longer life cycle. Another big issue is cushioning where the child sits as our seats offer more padding in all areas of contact.
- We now offer external mounted latch (C650 and C670 models) making for easy installation for those using this method of installation.
- It may be trivial but we are the only manufacturer whose cup holders are level when the seat is installed in the car. All other brands incorporating cup holders are level only in the store.

3rd SEAT!! February 24, 2010 C. Lee (Miami, FL) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have 2 C630s, have had them for over 1 year now. I just purchased the C670 because once again it is the highest rated convertible car seat on the NHTSA website: [...] I had to purchase this seat because two weeks ago we were rear ended, when the accident happened our first concern was out 19 month old son. I remember looking back at him, terrified and he was smiling watching a DVD, it is as if nothing happened to him. We got paramedics to check him out and they were impressed with his demeanor. I thank God for saving us all, but I also attribute his safety to the The First Years True Fit C630 he was sitting in. Due to insurance requirements we have to replace the car seat and it was a no-brainer for us to stick with this brand and model. Thank you First Years/Learning Curve for making a good product in this era of recalls and substandard materials.
I will give you an update in a few months when I have used it for a while.
Awesome seat! June 28, 2010 Shoppen is Fun We bought seat (in dark blue) from Amazon when our son was 3 months old. He was growing too big to sit comfortably in his Graco infant seat. He has done really well in this seat and it is so much better padded than his infant seat. We bought this seat based on the safety ratings and ease of use, and it has proved to be very easy to use. One of the best features is that you can adjust the height of the straps with your child in the seat, no need to unbuckle the seat. Also, the interior is so comfortable and lots of room on both the sides and at his feet. This is important because it will allow him to rear face for a lot longer than a year, since that is the safest way for him to be. This is the only seat we found with the rebound feature. I would highly recommend this seat. We have not had any accidents so I can't comment on the safety except to point to the high safety ratings and from the fit in the car.
Better car seat than the Boulevard CS August 13, 2010 KD (Bay Area, CA) I bought this and the Boulevard CS. They're both very good seats, comfortable and easy to install. However, if I had to choose between the two, I would pick this one mainly for the rebound bar. This enables the seat to be installed rear-facing. The Boulevard has an option for rear-facing, but there is nothing that prevents the seat from collapsing against the back in an accident. The "tether" when used rear-facing on is not just weird and blocks the side of the seat if tethering to the back of the seat. There is no tether point on the floor for my car. This seat requires no tethering at all which makes it infinitely easier to use rear-facing.
PROS over the Britax Boulevard which I also own:
Cheaper than the Britax
Rebound bar for rear-facing requires no tethering
Optional cup holder
Easier to install rear-facing
Removable headrest
I bought the Boulevard CS first due to the hype and recommendations of a friend. However, if I were to buy a new car seat for a new baby, I would absolutely buy this one for the mere fact that it can be installed rear-facing without tethering due to the rebound bar. Highly recommended.
Update: The LATCH belt is too short if you have a car with bucket seats. On my wife's Acura, we could not put the seat in the middle because the belt was too short. The Boulevard CS did have a long enough latch belt to install in the middle seat (the one with the hump). Installing the seat in the middle allows us to seat two more persons on the sides. With the TFP installed, we can only fit an additional person there. This is something to be aware of if you have bucket seats and want to seat two additional persons and the car seat. In that case, I suggest the Britax instead.
Super car seat for the money!! September 4, 2010 msg221 (Phoenix, AZ) I have two of these seats currently installed in my vehicle. My first priority in finding a seat was one that would allow rear facing for as long as possible. This one definitely fits the bill. It has one of the highest shell heights of any convertible seats so there isn't the worry of a child outgrowing the seat by height before reaching the rear facing weight limit, which is 35 pounds. I love the low profile which makes it easier to get the child in and out of the seat. The Britax Boulevard sits on a base and as the kids grew, it was harder to lift them in and out of the seat. The True Fit also is nice and deep, so there is much more rear facing leg room. Although there is nothing wrong from a safety standpoint if the child's feet touch the seat back. Kids are flexible and will adjust their feet to sit comfortably. They are still much safer sitting rear facing. They have more of a chance of sustaining leg injuries sitting forward facing than rear facing.
This seat has been a breeze to install in my 2003 Toyota Highlander with both LATCH and the seat belt. I love the features on this seat such as the anti-rebound bar, the no-thread harness which is so easy to adjust, the built in lock-offs, the easily removable cover, adjustable crotch strap and the removable headrest for small infants. The seat fabric is beautiful and washes up great (delicate cycle in the washer was just fine, and then air drying).
This seat fits every size child beautifully. I have had a newborn in it with the super cushy infant padding, two year-old toddlers and even a five year old still fit comfortably. It should easily last the average child until proper booster age, which is about 5 years old (when the child can sit properly in a booster, as in sitting still for the entire ride).
I have been able to compare this seat to others I have had including the Britax Boulevard and Boulevard CS, the Britax Advocate CS, Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL and the Graco My Ride. As for the previous reviewer's comment about tethering the Boulevard to the back seat rear facing, an easier way would be to create a tether point by using the provided D Ring connector and attaching it to any place bolted to the floor of the car. I had mine wrapped around where the driver's and passenger's seat is bolted to the floor.
As for trying to install it in the center and not having the LATCH belt be long enough, you must first be sure that both the child restraint manufacturer AND the vehicle manufacturer allow for center installation using LATCH. Some do not allow this. If that is the case, then try using the seat belt to install. It is just as safe as LATCH. Both of my seats are installed in the outboard position because 1) my vehicle does not allow LATCH installs in the center and 2) I could never get a solid enough installation with the seat belt in the center.
In comparison to all of the other seats I have had which were all great seats, I still prefer the True Fit Premiere because of its ease of installation and use and great price for what you get, especially when I got the seat on sale here on Amazon.
I like it, but I don't see it being worth the $ July 14, 2010 Em C. (Davis) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gosh but I was hoping that this seat would be 'the one.' It's not. The padding doesn't seem like it would be that great for a baby. I would prefer to use my own infant head stabilizer as the one that comes with the seat is super pillowy and pushes the baby's head forward. Just looks uncomfortable.
All the 'no thread' features just look hokey, and there are a ton of crumb and muck catchers on this seat. The crotch strap button that you push to move forward or back would be a pain to clean out. And just like with the non-premier models once the seat is forward facing and you remove the extra padding there's a huge gaping hole at the crotch...that's going to be gross and uncomfortable. I would rather take 5 minutes out of my day to re-thread the crotch strap than to spend longer than that trying to clean it or sewing up a cover for the hole.
I just really have a hard time buying that this seat is better than a more conventional model that has a smarter, mom friendlier, mess resistant design.
Pluses: The fabric is really nice and soft. It fits in our Prius.
Maybe the Sunshine will be 'the one'. If not, I'll keep the baby in the infant seat as long as I can and just get a forward facing chair. At least those are smartly designed.
